I am often asked for titles
of nonfiction books for students in my classroom, especially
for those who don't like reading fiction books. Because
of the many requests, I compiled this list of informational
text books. They were leveled by Gay Sue Pinnell, the
reading authority. Many of the books I considered were
obviously ones you would only find in a school setting.
Therefore, I tried to include only books parents would be able
to buy or find in a library. Hopefully, the list will be
helpful to you as you strive to help your child become a
lifelong reader.
