Important Information for Parents

We have Specials from 10:55-11:45 everyday.
We are on a 9 day rotation for Specials this year.  That means we won't be following a set schedule.  I will list our Specials every week on your child's Homework Sheet.

We have lunch at 1:03-1:33.  Yes, we have the last lunch period of the day.

Recess and snack will be the last thing of the day, from 10:20-10:50.  Since our lunch is so late, I suggest you send in a large snack everyday..

An excuse note is needed for each absence.

A note is needed anytime your child's dismissal arrangement is changed.  If there is no note, your child will do what he usually does on that day.  If your child goes home 2 or 3 different ways during the week, please send a note to school each Monday with that week's schedule.  I will keep it posted by the door for easy access every day at dismissal.

Please look over your child's Homework Sheet daily.  Check for assignments to be done that day, the behavior circle, and remember to record your child's at-home reading everyday.  Provide support when needed for homework, but encourage independence.  Have a quiet place and a set routine when possible for homework.  Encourage your child to be responsible for the completion of his/her assignments.  Stress the importance of doing his/her best work.  Click here for more Homework Tips.

All money brought to school must be sent in a sealed envelope with your student's name  on it.  Money for school sponsored activities, such as field trips or class shirts, should be brought in one of the white envelopes provided by the school.  ASP money should be sent in the brown envelopes provided by ASP.

Please label all belongings - lunch boxes, clothes, book bags, jackets - with your child's name.  It is amazing how many 'lost and found' items East Side accumulates.

See if you find this as interesting as I did:
