I'd like to introduce you to my husband, Stewart. He
is an accountant who owns and operates his own company,
Accounting Consultants of Cobb. He has been in
business for himself for sixteen years.
Stewart grew up in Daytona Beach, Florida, like I did, but
we did not meet until I returned home from Auburn in 1975.
He had graduated from Georgia Tech and was attending Stetson
University for an accounting degree. After dating for
three years, we married in June of 1978, and have now been
married for 30 years.
Stewart
is an active member of our community. He has volunteered
in many charitable organizations, such as the Scottish Rite
Foundation, the Wellstar Foundation, the Tommy Nobis
Center, and SafePath Children's Advocacy Center. He is a
member and past president of the Marietta Metro Rotary
Club and is the current president of the Georgia Society of
CPA's. He is also a member of the American Institute of CPA's.
Stewart is a member of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce and his
business was selected as one of the Top 25 Small Businesses
in Cobb County for 2004. He is an alumni of the
Leadership Cobb program sponsored by the Chamber of
Commerce, and was the
president of the Leadership Cobb Alumni Association for
2004-2005.
In his
spare time Stewart enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, and going on long
walks. He is also an avid golfer and many times gets up
as early as 5:00 in the morning to make a golf date. I
tell him he is crazy! We like to go to the movies
together, eat out at nice restaurants, and go to Georgia Tech
or Auburn football games. It's always interesting when
Tech and Auburn play each other!
Stewart
is a devoted father and a wonderful husband. We have had
many great years of fun together.
