Teacher Thoughts
Welcome! I am so glad to be back! I am
thrilled that our year together is starting! I have really felt the
excitement building at East Side over the past few weeks as we have been getting ready to meet you at Meet 'n Greet. I hope you
are ready to have lots of fun learning new stuff in Second Grade! There
are people to meet, friends to make, math to learn, field trips to take, and
lots of wonderful books to read. We'll also be traveling to far away
places to learn about different people, some from long ago and some who are
living today on the other side of our great big planet, Earth. Will we
have to board an airplane to go there? See you at school on Monday to find
out... :0)

Paper Work
For any parents who missed coming to Meet 'n Greet, be on the lookout for the
following papers in your child's bookbag:
Parent Partner Letter
Class Library Contract
How is Your Child Going Home
Help Wanted
Internet Permission Letter
HW Before School Starts
If you have any questions please call me at school, email me from the website, or drop me a note. I
will get back to you as soon as I can.
Snacks
Please send a healthy snack to school with your child each day. You
may also provide your child with a water bottle, but I ask that
it be a Pop-Top bottle to help in avoiding spills. Also, please wash this bottle
every night before sending it back to school the following day so we can
stay as healthy as possible. Kids think better when they well hydrated with a little something in their
stomachs. Thank you so much!

School Lunch Costs and
Policies
The cost of a student lunch this year has remained the same as last year, $1.60. Cobb
county school administration has adopted a LIMITED charge policy.
If a student arrives at school without money, they
are allowed up to $4.80 in charges in elementary school. If your child
arrives at school without money for lunch and has reached the charge limit,
he/she will be provided an alternate meal (such as a peanut butter sandwich and
milk, or a cheese sandwich and milk).
As in the
past, a reminder note will be sent home from the cafeteria letting you know it's
time to send in more money. Click
here

School Supplies

If you haven't sent the items on the Second Grade Supply List to school yet,
please try to get them in as soon as possible. I am trying to get our
classroom procedures and routines taught quickly so our classroom will be
up and running smoothly as soon as possible. Some of the supply items are needed in order to
accomplish this. Thanks for your help!
